Legacies

If you would like to remember Kettering Old Grammar School Foundation in your Will, you will need to include certain information. In particular, it is important that the Foundation's name, address and registered charity number are set out in full.

For the convenience of a solicitor who may be helping you draw up your Will, here are examples of suggested wording, covering two different kinds of legacy.

  • Legacy of all or part of net estate
    I give to Kettering Old Grammar School Foundation, Registered Charity Number 309903, of 36 The Business Exchange, Rockingham Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire NN16 8JX, (hereinafter called The Foundation) the residue [or % share of the residue] of my estate absolutely and I direct that (i) the proceeds may be used for the general purposes of The Foundation and (ii) a receipt signed by a person for the time being authorised by The Foundation's Board of Directors shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors.
  • Fixed sum legacy
    I give to Kettering Old Grammar School Foundation, Registered Charity Number 309903, of 36 The Business Exchange, Rockingham Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire NN16 8JX, (hereinafter called The Foundation) the sum of _________ and I direct that (i) the proceeds may be used for the general purposes of The Foundation and (ii) a receipt signed by a person for the time being authorised by The Foundation's Board of Directors shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors.
